Hi, my name is Sasha the artisan sourdough baker behind Sasha’s Homemade. I’m not only a baker but a wife and mother of three amazing kids.

At the age of 19 I attended Johnson & Wales University studying pastry arts for a year. After discovering I have a sensitivity to gluten, it inspired me to start my sourdough journey. I grew my own starter in 2022, named Shirley. My first loaf was like a pizza, a total disappointment. I brought it to family dinner anyways, telling everyone its only going to get better from there. After lots of research and uncountable mistakes I fell in love with sourdough. I always dreamed of selling my food. In 2024 I finally overcame my fear and started my own sourdough micro bakery from my home kitchen.

Hoping to sell a few loaves to my neighbors I set up “The Bread Shed” in my front yard. I have an honor system, first come first serve. Road side stand open Fridays and Saturdays. Its been an incredible journey. You can now find my bread at 4 location including my original Bread Shed.

In 2025 I started teaching others the basics of sourdough. How to maintain a starter and make their first loaf of sourdough through my Introduction To Sourdough Class. The class is hands on. It teaches the basics and takes the fear out of making your own sourdough.
